When the main game of Mortal Kombat gets boring, these minigames are a great way to change things up.

Even though the Mortal Kombat games can be very serious, there has always been a funny side to them, especially before NetherRealm took over. The ’90s episodes had a unique charm that came from having such a small team, and strangely, that feeling carried over into the ’00s.

Mortal Kombat games for PS2, GameCube, and Xbox continued to have weird material, like minigames that were out of this world. Midway didn’t want these games to be just fighting games, especially since these minigames aren’t in Street Fighter or any other fighting game. Minigames in MK are few, but each one is interesting in its own way.

Test Your Might

Test Your Might is the most well-known of the minigames in Mortal Kombat. It’s a minigame that appears in several games, including the first one. You have to quickly press different buttons to make the meter go up until you hit a threshold. At that point, you have to press a button to strike, and if it’s above the barrier, it’ll go through and you’ll win.

It’s a fun party game, especially with two people. If you want to take a break from versus play, you can play with a friend. Just keep your hands from getting too tired.

Test Your Sight

Test Your Sight is a minigame that can be found in both Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance and Mortal Kombat 9. It is a party game. Like a standard carnival game, you have to follow the path of the object that leads to the key item you’re looking for. As the minigame goes on, more cups are added and the pace picks up a lot.

Since the PS Vita has Sixaxis motion controls, you can balance your fighter by tilting the device in either way. At first, it’s easy, but later on, moving body parts can throw off your balance. And you have to stay in a certain zone for a certain amount of time. It works great on the Vita, but probably not so well on a bus or airplane. If you aren’t in that position, it’s a tough but fun time.

Test Your Slice

Fruit Ninja was one of the most popular mobile games when many people were kids. It was the perfect mobile game to play on the go, and even the Kinect port was good. Since the PS Vita had a touch screen, it made sense for the MK9 port to have a minigame like Fruit Ninja, but with body parts instead of fruit.

Test Your Slice is a good copy of Fruit Ninja. It has combos and bombs that you can set off by shaking the Vita. It’s a minigame that can only be played on a tablet, and it’s a lot of fun like an arcade game.
