Cricketer David Warner Bought a $2.3m Home In Maroubra

by Uneeb Khan

Pit stop while couple builds “forever home” down the road. Australian test cricketer David Warner and his ironwoman wife Candice have snapped up a $2.3 million home in Maroubra.

It will be their in-between home while they build a new home just 800-metres down the road in Lurline Bay.

The batsman is about to head on tour to India with the Australian cricket team to battle it out for the number one ranking Test team.

While the family shacks up in the modern “night watcher” pad, they’ll be able to keep an eye on the development of their “forever dream home,” which has approval for a new five-storey residence, estimated to cost around $4 million. The couple is yet to knock down the home on the 892-square-metre site they bought for $3.9 million in late 2015.

The sale of Warner’s five-bedroom family home in South Coogee for $7.05 million in February last year, no doubt helped fund the recent Maroubra purchase.

Split over three levels, the couple bought the South Coogee mansion from Secret Millionaire Carly Crutchfield.

Their new Maroubra pad, has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an entertainer’s kitchen. There’s also a self-contained guest apartment with its own entrance on the lower level of the property.
