Can I obtain a refund if I don’t like it?

How to Take Realistic Lifestyle Pictures of Families

Elena S. Blair has amassed a mini-empire in less than a decade by capturing genuine family moments. She also co-founded Ladyboss Workshops with CreativeLive instructor Sandra Coan, which assists aspiring female photographers in building profitable businesses. However, the Seattle-based photographer did not build a business delivering images of real moments without photography posing quite the contrary.

If you cannot attend Elena’s upcoming WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photography International) presentation, we have secured exclusive access to her tips for creating candid shots with lifestyle posing also check this topposttoday.

Elena claims that she barely ever stops chatting during a session because of the innovative lifestyle posing methods she utilizes to promote genuine contact. Elena works with posing activities, such as inviting the family to hug or dance or urging a new mom to breathe in the scent of the newborn infant, rather than stiff posing to get the ideal S-curve.

Maintain contact while varying their heights

When directing simpler lifestyle poses, keep a few things in mind. Lifestyle posing does not nitpick with the many small changes a formal portrait photographer will make. The first is to keep the family in contact — this demonstrates connection.

The second is to vary the heights to add variety. You can get more variety in your poses by asking the father to place one of the children on his shoulders, or by having the parents seated and the children standing.

Have a look at the gallery as a whole

Elena considers the entire album when working on a family photo shoot, in addition to capturing the family and some close-up details. She frequently takes portraits of each child at eye level. Directing smaller groups, such as just mom with each child is also important.

Although lifestyle portrait photographers don’t force every body part into the ideal position, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t any posing at all. Try posing exercises and incorporating additional posing advice from Elena’s workflow for effective poses that also capture genuine moments.
