Every Major Nation In Final Fantasy 16

by Zohaib Khan

Each one in Final Fantasy 16 is a strong piece on the Valisthea board.

Final Fantasy 16’s world is full of amazing things. Valisthea has a lot of strange ruins, magical creatures, and fertile land that hasn’t been touched by the spreading Blight. There is also a lot of power in the realm, like the huge Mothercrystals that give control over the elements themselves.

There are, of course, many countries fighting for power in Valisthea, as there would be in any land with so much promise and potential. Mothercrystals, dominants, and the danger of the Blight have turned the realm into its own Game of Thrones. Here are the political goals of each country in Final Fantasy XVI, from the evil plans of Sanbreque to the good intentions of Rosaria.

The Grand Duchy Of Rosaria

Rosaria is where our main character, Clive Rosfield, comes from. The country has always been a noble and true state. It is on the western side of Storm. Archduke Elwin Rosfield, Clive’s father, is known as one of Valisthea’s most kind and good-natured kings who put the well-being of his people above all else.

Rosaria’s main goal has always been to help make the land more peaceful and united. Elwin wants to capture Drake’s Breath, the Mothercrystal that is on an island held by the Iron Kingdom. This would help him strengthen his empire and move it away from the dying lands. Duchess Annabella, Elwin’s wife, has a very different reason for doing things than Elwin does. It’s clear that she wants to be in charge of the whole country and have power over it.

After the first events of the game, Rosaria’s place in the realm’s power structure changes a lot, and Clive and his brother Joshua are right in the middle of the fight. Still, Clive’s uncle Byron backs the return of House Rosfield in secret, which goes against what the powerful kingdom of Sanbreque wants. The people who still live in Rosaria have one goal: to see their

The Holy Empire Of Sanbreque

The Empire is a huge theocracy controlled by its holy emperor, Sylvestre Lesage. It is the most powerful country in Valisthea. Dion, the son of Sylvestre, is the Dominant of Bahamut, the great Warden of Light, and one of Valisthea’s strongest Eikons. Between Dion’s fierceness and Sanbreque’s huge Mothercrystal Drake’s Head, Sanbreque is a very strong force in Valisthea.

With the strength of his son and the sheer number of troops at his disposal, Emperor Sylvestre has been able to mostly take control of any situation he wants. The Empire’s power was felt all over Valisthea, and if Sylvestre had his way. He would make it even bigger, which would make countries like Dhalmekia and Waloed very unhappy. As its name suggests, the Holy Empire thinks that its rule is the will of the goddess Greagor. This gives them a sense of self-righteousness, even though they do bad things.

Part of why Sanbreque wants to take over more land is because the Blight is getting closer. The plague has destroyed a lot of their land. People in Sanbreque are being forced further and further inland because their crops are dying and they can’t use magic. The Empire is not afraid to take new land by force if they have to.

The Dhalmekian Republic

The Dhalmekian Republic is a country in the south of the Storm continent. It is ruled by a government, with one member from each of its five states. But, like most government groups in Final Fantasy XVI, things are not as they should be, and Hugo Kupka, the republic’s special advisor, tells the region what to do and what its goals should be.

Kupka is an important part of Final Fantasy XVI’s main plot, and as the Dominant of Titan, the Eikon of Earth, he has a lot of power within the republic. While Dhalmekia often fights with the Empire of Sanbreque over land and Mothercrystals (including Drake’s Fang, which is the republic’s crystal), Kupka is only interested in his own goals.

Kupka will often use Dhalmekian forces to attack other countries for selfish reasons, like getting even with a small person. Because he is willing to work with whoever helps him the most, the Dhalmekian Republic is one of the most unstable countries in Doodle Baseball game.

The Kingdom Of Waloed

There are two big continents in the land of Valisthea. In the west is the continent of Storm, which is home to three of the most important countries in the area and is surrounded by two more. On the eastern continent of Ash, however, there is only one country left standing: Waloed.

Waloed is a mysterious and powerful kingdom. Its huge Mothercrystal Drake’s Spine and strong troops keep other countries from moving into its land. The orcs and other beasts who have claimed the rest of Ash are often a test for the country. Because they are so advanced. Still, Waloed has its sights set on much bigger prizes as its troops try to expand into other nearby kingdoms.

Waloed is home to the Dominant of Odin, Eikon of Darkness. Which makes them a tough opponent for Sanbreque and Bahamut’s royal power. Since they both want to take over the world, it seems like their fight for power will never end.

The Crystalline Dominion

Vivian Ninetales, a very smart and knowledgeable historian, says that the Crystalline Dominion could claim to be in the center of the world. The dominion is right between the continents of Storm and Ash. And it is all around Drake’s Tail, which is Valisthea’s largest Mothercrystal.

The Crystalline Dominion was at the center of a lot of fighting. Because many of the countries around it wanted its perfect strategic location. Since the dominion didn’t have its own Dominant to protect it, many different forces fought to take over the area. After years of fighting, the ruling groups came to an agreement to make a peace treaty. A representative from each country was sent to help run the dominion.

With a contract in place, it seems like the fights over Drake’s Tail are over. Now, the main goal of the Crystalline Dominion is to make Valisthea a safe and peaceful place for everyone to come together and enjoy the benefits of the Mothercrystal.

The Iron Kingdom

The Iron Kingdom is neither on Storm nor on Ash. Instead, it is just off the western coast of Storm. The Crystalline Orthodox, a group of religious fanatics led by a High Priest called Imreann, live on the group of islands.

Jill Warrick, who was friends with Clive as a child, was once a slave of High Priest Imreann. And she shows how evil the nation’s goals are. With the help of Drake’s Breath, the region’s Mothercrystal, the Crystalline Orthodox want to get rid of any Bearers or Dominants they find because they think they are dirty and evil.

Even though they don’t like the magic users in the realm. They are more than happy to use Bearers and Dominants for their own purposes. For example, they helped protect Drake’s Breath from Rosaria when they were fighting over who would control the Mothercrystal. Because of how cruel they are, they are a real force in the war that is going on all over the land of Valisthea.
