How to Draw A Rabbit

Step 1

When you think of a rabbit, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? I bet one of the first things would be big floppy ears, and that’s what we’re going to start with for this first step of our guide on how to draw a rabbit. First, draw a line that curves around itself, as in the reference image.

Step 2

Your bunny needs two ears to be complete, so let’s add another to this part of your bunny drawing. Just draw another curved line over the previous one to have both ears ready for the rest of the drawing.

Step 3

Step 3 of this rabbit drawing guide includes adding a head outline for your rabbit. The rabbit’s head is quite round.

A small section protrudes slightly at the front to form your rabbit’s mouth. Then you can add a nose to your face with a simple black dot like the one in the reference image.

Step 4

In this fourth step, we will start drawing a body for your rabbit drawing. First, draw a short, curved line under your rabbit’s head to create a small chest.

Then you can extend a line from the back of the head to create your rabbit’s back. As you can see in the last pictures, the rabbit will sit crooked, so this line will be quite curved to give this look.

Step 5

Your rabbit is now taking shape! This step of our rabbit drawing guide will show you how to draw some paws for your rabbit. First, draw a smaller, slightly curved leg in front, like in our reference image.

The back leg will be a lot taller and more rounded, so use some curved lines to draw the hip before adding a big, floppy foot. Finally, add a fluffy round tail to your bunny!

Step 6

This step of drawing your rabbit will be pretty easy. All you have to do is add your rabbit’s other front leg, which looks very similar to the other. It takes care of all the limbs, so let’s focus on the smaller details in the next step.

Step 7

You are almost at the end of our tutorial on how to draw a bunny! Before moving to the final step, a few details remain, so let’s take care of that now. The first thing to add is an eye for your rabbit. We made our own by drawing circles inside other circles with some long lashes for added cuteness.

You could replicate this look or use some simpler eye shapes! Finally, we drew lines in the ear and around the rabbit’s various limbs for better definition and texture.

Step 8

Reaching step 8 means your rabbit’s drawing is almost complete! Now all that’s missing is a few nice colors to round it off. It is a step where you can show us how creative you can be with some awesome color and style choices!

In our example, we only showed one way you can color your rabbit, but feel free to use any of your favorite colors on it. You can even try fun art mediums to finish off your bunny drawing! If you want a more vivid and colorful picture, you can use such means as acrylic paints and colored pencils.
