Repair a Word document that has become corrupted

The reasons for this are numerous and diverse, but the end consequence is the same, a Microsoft Word document that won’t open normally.

Within the mistake syntax, Word gives you two options: Open and Repair or Text Recovery.

Open and Repair

The effects of Open and Repair are mixed. It works some of the time and some of the time it doesn’t.

  • Open a new Word document to have access to the tools.
  • At the bottom, select File and Open, then Recover Unsaved Documents.
  • Click the radio button next to it instead of Open, and then Open and Repair.
  • Word will fix it if it is capable of doing so.

Text Recovery

Text Recovery, which may be accessed from the same dialogue box, may or may not be of assistance.

Creating a New Word Document

To restore the text of a corrupted file, Microsoft provides a few native tools.

This is a quick and easy way to use if you’re using a Windows PC or Mac. You can use a new Word document to replace the corrupted file.

  • Create a new document with Microsoft Word.
  • At the top, click ‘Insert.’ Then choose ‘Object.’
  • At the bottom, select ‘From File.’
  • Locate the corrupted file and select it.
  • In the new blank document, the text from the corrupted file should show.

Other options for repairing a Word document that has become corrupted

We have alternative choices if the internal repairing tools don’t work. Previous documents, File History, and Windows Restore are all options. There are a few other tools to test as well.

Previous Word Documents

  • To begin, check to see if Word has saved a prior version.
  • Select a previous version from File and Managed Documents.

This option may not be available if you have closed Word or rebooted your computer.

History of the File

Your documents may be automatically stored based on your operating system. File History is used by Windows 10 to back up some data automatically. If you don’t save your work on your computer, you’ll need to configure File History.

  • Right-click on the corrupted Word document.
  • Select Restore Previous Versions from the drop-down menu.
  • Wait for the popup box to load and select one of the earlier versions of the document.
  • To open it, select OK.

Once you restore your file, relax and watch your favourite movie on Vega Movies. You can even download other language movie from Tamil Rockers Kannada
