What is an Indian E-Visa?

To qualify for an e- visa, the applicant must have valid travel documents (such as a passport), be in possession of enough money to cover expenses while in the country, and have no criminal record. The application methodology is relatively short and can be achieved online.

There are three types of e- visas available to Indian nationals: tourist, business, and medical. Each type has its own set of requirements and privileges. For example, tourists wishing to visit any of the 29 states in India without having to obtain a state permit must apply for a tourist e- visa through the Ministry of Home Affairs website. Businesses wishing to conduct business activities in any of India’s 29 states must also apply for a business e- visa through the same website. Medical practitioners wishing to work in any Indian state without having to obtain separate medical permits must also apply for a medical e- visa through the same website.
