Pixel 7 batteries are smaller than Pixel 6 batteries. Pixel 7 has a 4,355mAh battery, whereas Pixel 6 has 4,614mAh. We anticipate similar battery life. Both devices need charging at night. THESE PHONES’ CAMERAS AREN’T SURPRISING

The Pixel 6 has two years of Android updates and four years of security upgrades remaining after a year. The google pixel 7 will get updates for one year longer than the Pixel 6.

Both phones use vanilla Android with Google’s Pixel launcher. Android purists love pure Android; however, Pixel phones lack several software customization capabilities that you may use on your non-Pixel phones.

PIXEL 7 OR PIXEL 6? UPGRADE?

The Pixel 7 is comparable to last year’s phone. It’s basically an improved Pixel 6. This isn’t a negative thing, but if you have a functional Pixel 6, there’s no incentive to switch to the Pixel 7. We’re looking at minor enhancements and a slightly modified design. The Tensor G2’s new features are minor. Except for minor adjustments, the display and camera sensors are the same.

Upgrade if you want Pixel features. If you missed the Pixel 6 last year or are new to Pixels, grab the Pixel 7. As indicated in our review, this is one of the finest Android phones in this price category. You can save money by buying a new Pixel 6 from Amazon or if it’s on sale, but we suggest getting the Pixel 7 unless you receive a huge discount.

SUSTAINABILITY

Google does not provide a battery longevity, although it should survive at least 500 full charge cycles with 80% capacity and third-party companies may repair the phone using authentic fixit components. This out-of-warranty screen repairs will cost £140 and battery replacements £100.

VERDICT

Top-tier Android phones like the Pixel 7 are affordable. It delivers much of what makes the Pixel 7 Pro one of the greatest smartphones of the year, but it cuts compromises to stay under £600 at a time when technology is growing more costly.

You receive a clever, well-designed gadget with at least five years of service and decent software. You won’t find a better budget camera. The 6.3-inch screen and battery life are excellent, but not great.

The Pixel 7’s major difficulty is that Google’s cheaper Pixel 6a provides 70% of the Pixel 7’s performance for approximately £400, while competitors cost north of £750.

CONS:

Restricted zoom, face unlock not as secure as some competitors, battery life below average, sluggish charging, no substantial performance boost.
