The Importance of Cloud Computing Solutions

by Uneeb Khan

A cloud solution provides hosted services over the internet. These cloud services can be private or public. Cloud services are classified as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS). IT services and computing are made easy through cloud computing solutions

The services provided by the cloud could be limited in access and scalability based on the customer’s needs. Remote servers are used to access data and applications from any part of the world over the internet.

What is Cloud Computing?

In an organization, before the advent of cloud solutions, all the applications, programs, and files should be physically present and installed on all the computers for the clients to use. This would require a huge physical IT infrastructure and would cost a lot of money and labor hours as an investment.

Administration and management of these is even more difficult. With the introduction of cloud computing, companies are using services over the cloud and are paying based on their usage.

This reduced the cost of data center maintenance work, and on the other hand, productivity has increased and upscaling and/or downscaling is also easy. Remote access from any point of the Earth is made possible through cloud solutions.

Benefits of Cloud Computing System

Below are some striking benefits of adopting a cloud-based computing system for an organization:

  • Updates: In cloud computing, the services provided are updated with the latest versions of the software then and there. Hence, physically installing the latest software every time individually on every system is not required. Labor time is reduced, and the power of processing is found to be efficient.
  • On the go: Cloud computing provides a lot of mobility when it comes to accessing applications. The user can access the site from any part of the world, irrespective of the time zone. Productivity is improved, and the application is always ready to be accessed.
  • Recovery: Business continuity is always ensured while using cloud solutions. Data loss in downtime can be caused due to natural calamities and disasters or software or hardware failure, which is avoided here. A clear backup to recover the data is ensured. The business is available 24×7.
  • Security: in cloud-based solutions, the level of authorization to access data can be scrutinized. Highly sensitive and private data cannot be accessed by ordinary users. A lot of administrative tools to tighten security are available based on the service providers.
  • Cost-cutting: Cloud-based solutions are highly cost-saving because they don’t require much physical infrastructure. The money spent on the building, hardware, installation, maintenance, and administration is reduced by using cloud services.
  • Scalability: Because Cloud computing is inexpensive, scaling up the business to keep up with market trends is simple. The bandwidth can be increased or decreased based on the business needs. Similarly, the storage capacity can also be chosen. The effort put into maintaining a data center is not required in Cloud computing.
  • Application-friendly: Applications communicate with one another in cloud computing. Data transfer between systems is made very easy. The applications are also designed in such a way that they could interact with other such applications over the internet.
  • Flexibility: In the cloud, users could work on a single file and make the process very transparent. This makes the project follow-up easy and transparent. The whole process becomes hassle-free with the cloud.
