What Activities Shouldn’t You Do While Wearing a Wig?

by gaurav gupta

Don’t let the title of this article mislead you. Provided you always invest in high-quality wigs and have them expertly fitted, there are very few things you shouldn’t do while wearing one. Of course, that isn’t to say that you will always feel comfortable carrying out certain activities while wearing a wig, but you absolutely can, should you want to.

To explore human hair wigs in Toronto and the many options available to you, find a local wig store and chat with their staff, who are usually more than happy to impart their wisdom and experience when it comes to wearing wigs made from human hair. Note that they will also, without a shadow of a doubt, tell you that you can wear a wig to the following 5 places (even if non-wig-wearing people tell you that you can’t possibly!):

Riding the big dipper!

Surely a wig will fall right off on a rollercoaster? Well, no. Even while wearing a snugly fitting wig without glue or adhesives, your high-quality human hair wig will stay right where it’s supposed to: on your head!

Having fun at the pool or beach

While immersing your human hair wig in chlorinated or salt water isn’t recommended on a frequent basis, you can still do it on occasion; just be sure to give it a hydrating treatment following exposure to keep it looking and feeling healthy. And as far as a day at the pool or the beach, splashing around, sunbathing, or doing whatever it is you enjoy doing there, getting your wig a little wet won’t harm it at all.

Snorkelling

As mentioned above, immersing your high-quality human hair wig in salt water might not be advisable on a regular basis, but it’s not likely that you’re going to be snorkeling that often anyway! So, the odd snorkeling session while on vacation is perfectly doable, provided you take good care of your wig afterwards.

And as for it slipping off and floating away while you’re underwater, if you’ve had it fitted professionally and have invested in a high-quality wig, it will stay firmly in place.

Riding a motorbike

Many women don’t like riding motorcycles if they’ve styled their hair since the helmet can crush and spoil it, but if you’re alright with a spot of helmet hair, you’ll be totally fine wearing your wig while riding a motorcycle.

Playing sports

As with most scenarios and places, the quality of your wig can play a significant role in how comfortable you are wearing it. A cheap, synthetic wig might make you sweat while playing sports and slip from its position on your head, but a high-quality, fitted human hair wig won’t cause you any such problems.

So real hair wigs can pretty much be worn everywhere, no matter what you’re doing? Yes, although there is one exception: during certain medical procedures, such as an MRI. Apart from that, you can carry on enjoying life while your wig stays right where it needs to be!

If there is any metal in the cap of your wig, you won’t be able to wear it during an MRI, but if you have any doubts, you can check with your healthcare provider.
