Corrugated Cardboard Boxes come in various types and designs. Learn more about these boxes in this article. It will help you choose the right boxes for your business and save money on packaging supplies. There are several advantages to buying corrugated cardboard boxes. Here are some of them.

Corrugated Box: What Is It?

A corrugated cardboard box is a durable, lightweight, and reusable container made from layers of material. Its middle layer is fluted, providing cushioning and support for the weight of the items inside. The corrugated box has been around for over 200 years and is still one of the most commonly used shipping containers. These boxes are also biodegradable and can be recycled easily.

Corrugated cardboard boxes come in a variety of styles. The most common types include a slotted, telescope, and rigid boxes. Custom designs are also available. A half-slotted container is essentially the same as a regular slotted box but with one side folded up and the other open.

The inner layer of corrugated cardboard is made of two materials. The outer liner consists of a fiberboard, while the inner layer is made of paperboard. Corrugated cardboard is often made of Kraft paper or recycled paper. There are many types of corrugated boards and they all have their uses.

Corrugated cardboard is an extremely strong, rigid material. It is made of three layers of brown Kraft paper. The inner layer, called the corrugated medium, gives the box its strength and durability. It is glued between two sheets of Kraft paper, creating a three-layered structure that is stiffer than regular cardboard.

Types of Corrugated Cardboard Boxes

There are many different types of corrugated cardboard boxes available on the market. They can be used to package a variety of products. One type is made from Kraft paper, while another is made from test paper. Although Kraft paper is more expensive than other types, it is more durable. Kraft paper is usually composed of 70-80% virgin chemical pulp fiber that is derived from softwood trees. It is available in brown, white, speckled, totally bleached, or birch-faced.

Corrugated boxes come in a variety of flutes, each allowing the packaging to be stiffer and more durable. The first flute is 1/4″ high and is commonly used for packaging items that are more fragile. The second flute is 1/8″, and it provides compression and puncture resistance. The third type, called the E-flute, is only 1/16″ high and is generally used for retail packaging and displays. It has good puncture resistance, but it is not as sturdy as the other two types of flutes. geopolitic

Corrugated cardboard boxes are tested regularly to ensure that they are sturdy and resistant to breakage. A test called an “edge crush test” is often done on the boxes to determine whether they can withstand a significant amount of weight. This test involves placing a board edge between two parallel plates and compressing it. The result is measured in pounds per linear inch and is used to determine the maximum compression force that a corrugated box can withstand.
