So, if you are looking for some amazing drawing ideas then you are at the right post, here we share more drawings like birds drawing, cartoon drawings, pencil drawing and many more.

Drawing a dead tree

Step 1:

To begin this guide on drawing a dead tree, we’ll start with the tree’s root. Throughout this drawing, we will use many lines to bark an aged and gnarled look. It’s worth keeping this in mind when drawing these roots, and as you can see in the reference image, we’ll be using curvy,

Winding lines for the seeds that stick into the ground. Once you’ve drawn these roots as they appear in the example, you’re ready for step 2, so let’s continue!

Step 2:

You’ve started drawing the roots of your dead tree drawing, and now we’re going to finish it, so it’s ready for the following tree sections. To do this, we will add more curved and rounded lines on the sides of the root base.

Again, when it comes to making the tree look older, the more rounded and twisted the lines, the better! This will finish the roots for now, and as we move forward, we will work on the tree trunk.

Step 3:

In this third part of our guide on how to draw a dead tree, we’ll start removing the trunk. We used a lot of rounded lines connecting the tree’s roots, and we’ll use even more for this step. You can add line details to the roots you have already drawn, and these line details will extend to the trunk.

The trunk will have lots of line detail, and again this will help give the tree a weathered look. The trunk will also be slightly bent, which will help give the appearance of a tree that has spent years being blown around by high winds. Finally, add a node to the tree with a small black shape, and then you can continue.

Step 4:

Now is the time to start adding branches to your dead tree drawing. These will also consist of many rounded lines that connect when looking at the other sections of the tree. There will be a thicker branch on the right side; then, on the left, there will be a thinner one branching out in three places. Once it’s drawn, we can add smaller branches and twigs to the ends of the ones you’ve drawn, along with some minor final details.

Step 5:

This step of our guide on how to draw a dead tree will be to finish the last details to prepare you for the last part of the guide. Add thick lines from their ends to the thinnest parts to finish the branches. These will also help that dead tree look even more finished and aged. Before getting to this part, you can add some touches of your choice.

We mentioned in the intro that this would make a great Halloween image, and there are many things you can add to achieve that effect. You could draw pumpkins with an ominous moon with bats flying through to get an idea. You could also do many things, so this is your chance to let your creativity run wild! How are you going to finish this drawing before coloring it?

Step 6:

Now that your dead tree drawing is done, you can finish it with fantastic colors in this last step. We used darker shades of brown to further our goal of giving this tree an aged and weathered look. You can replicate this look for your design, but feel free to use any colors you like too!

Even if you use those darker browns, there are ways to incorporate brighter colors. For an idea, you can use oranges and yellows for the base to make it look like there’s a blanket of fall leaves. What colors and art media will you use to complete this drawing?

Do this to bring your finished tree illustration

Grow that dead tree sketch with these four fun and easy tips! We created this dead tree drawing looks great, but we could still use a few more details! You can add lots of subtle details to make it even better. Even if it is a dead tree, you can add some small dead leaves clinging to the branches. Or you can add more details and holes in the tree’s bark. Here are a few little ways to make that dead tree more vibrant. What other minor details could you add to complete it?

Another way to make this drawing of a dead tree even better would be to add some animals around it. For example, having an owl perched on one of the branches would be fun. Or maybe there could be a squirrel relaxing in the tree! These are only a few critters you can desire to visit in a tree, but what else can you feel of? This dead tree sketch we drew has quite a creepy feel to it. For this reason, you can add a few more sprawling and mysterious figures than an owl or a squirrel.

Maybe a werewolf could be under the tree, howling at the moon. Or maybe there’s a ghost doing some spooky stuff! What other spooky and spooky creatures and characters could you add to complete this design before the last tip? Once you have added all your ideas and edits, you can finish this dead tree drawing with a background. The background you add will depend on the other changes you’ve made!

If you want it to be a more traditional design, you can use a forest background as an idea. You can show a haunted house or a graveyard for a spookier setting. These are rare tips, but we prompt you to use your originality for this one! What will you wear?
