Ranking 10 Best Stasis Weapons In Destiny 2

by Uneeb Khan

With these powerful Stasis tools in Destiny 2, you can slow down, freeze, and break your enemies.

Destiny 2: Beyond Light added a new type of damage called “Stasis” to the series. This form of the Darkness slows down and freezes targets in solid ice, making crowd control harder than ever before. Targets can’t be frozen or broken by Stasis weapons on their own, but Stasis-only perks can.

When used with certain builds, Chill Clip and Headstone make Stasis guns very powerful. With the right Stasis build, a good Stasis weapon can be just as powerful as your bombs and Super. This list has ten Stasis guns that are great for everyone who uses Stasis in Destiny 2, from Exotic Trace Rifles to Legendary Hand Cannons.

Disparity

Destiny 2 Disparity

The Disparity Stasis Pulse Rifle isn’t the first one we’ve gotten, but it’s definitely the best. This gun is better than New Purpose and all future Stasis Pulse Rifles because it has good base stats, good perks, and can be made. For PvE, Rapid Hit and One for All can’t go wrong. In the last section, you can also get Kill Clip or Desperado.

This is about what you’d expect from a PvE weapon, but in the Crucible, Disparity is a monster. This gun feels like an Exotic because of Eye of the Storm and Headseeker. Almost every shot you take will be a headshot, and if it isn’t, it will trigger Headseeker, giving you 15 aim help and increasing your headshot damage. As long as you get the first shot off, this gun will win you almost every mid-range battle.

Recommended Traits:

  • Column One: Rapid Hit, Eye of the Storm (PvP)
  • Column Two: Kill Clip, Desperado, Headseeker (PvP)

Thoughtless

Destiny 2 Thoughtless

Thoughtless is a Stasis Sniper Rifle that packs a powerful punch. This weapon can roll with Firing Line or Focused Fury to get a big damage boost during DPS stages, but Enhanced Overflow is where the real power of Thoughtless lies. While active, Thoughtless can hold up to 16 rounds in its magazine, giving it ridiculously high continuous DPS. When you combine this Sniper Rifle with Weapon Surge mods, you get great DPS that lasts.

Recommended Traits:

  • Column One: Overflow
  • Column Two: Firing Line, Focused Fury

Deliverance

Destiny 2 Deliverance

Deliverance is the first Stasis Fusion Rifle to be added to the Destiny 2 world, and it might be one of the best Fusions in the game. The Precision Frame on the weapon makes it easy to hit targets from far away, which makes it a great PvP Fusion. For PvE, you can choose from some really cool perks.

If you roll the Demolitionist in the first column, you can reload your bomb after five kills. Combine this with Successful Warm-Up for a fast-firing Fusion, or use Chill Clip instead to constantly slow and freeze your enemies. Chill Clip also works well with Stasis, letting you create Stasis Shards if you use the right Aspects. If spamming skills isn’t your thing, you can make this a Rapid-Fire Fusion by getting Corned and Successful Warm-Up. If you like Fusions even a little bit, try to find or make a Deliverance.

Recommended Traits:

  • Column One: Demolitionist
  • Column Two: Successful Warm-Up, Chill Clip

Eyasluna

Destiny 2 Eyasluna

Like most of the other weapons in the Grasp of Avarice set, Eyasluna is a new version of an old favorite from Destiny. It has the same type and name as the first one, but that’s about all they have in common. Now, Eyasluna is a Stasis weapon that is better for PvE content.

The best roll for this gun in PvE is Unrelenting and Headstone, which makes a Stasis crystal on precise kills that can break. When you break this gem, it will do a lot of damage and heal you at the same time. It’s not a bad PvP weapon—it has great stats and can be used with Rangefinder—but it’s not as good as Palindrome or Fatebringer. But if you want a great PvE Stasis weapon, you should keep an eye out for Eyasluna.

Recommended Traits:

  • Column One: Unrelenting
  • Column Two: Headstone

Cryosthesia 77K

Destiny 2 Cryosthesia 77k Exotic Sidearm

When it first came out, Cryosthesia was so bad that people quickly forgot about it. Lucky for us, Bungie gave this weapon a big boost by making its secondary fire into an AoE blast. When the Exotic damage buff from The Witch Queen is added to Cryosthesia, she hits like a truck and can clear a group of enemies with a single AoE shot.

We usually give advice for PvE, but in the right hands, Cryosthesia is insanely strong in PvP. Use a Special attack with a lot of damage, like a GL or Shotgun, to weaken an enemy. Then use Cryosthesia to finish them off, and enjoy a free ice shot that almost always kills. It’s a good, but cheesy, combination that makes this Sidearm S-tier in both sandboxes.

Prolonged Engagement

Destiny 2 Prolonged Engagement

Prolonged Engagement is Stasis Funnelweb. That’s reason enough to get this tool, but it’s not the whole story. This gun might not get as much out of Volatile Rounds as Funnelweb, but it can roll with Headstone, which works well with Stasis.

As for bonuses, this gun can get some great damage bonuses, like Surrounded, Adagio, Frenzy, and Target Lock. We suggest Target Lock, which makes the damage of the gun go up as you hit the same target. When used with Veist Stinger, you can easily chew through red bars with more health, such as Hive Knights and Vex Minotaurs.

Recommended Traits:

  • Column One: Subsistence, Feeding Frenzy, Killing Wind (PvP)
  • Column Two: Target Lock, Adagio, Rangefinder (PvP)

Conditional Finality

Destiny 2 Conditional Finality Shotgun

The raid on The Root of Nightmares Exotic is a powerful tool for both Stasis and Solar users. Conditional Finality is a two-barreled shotgun that alternates between shooting Stasis and Solar pellets with each shot. If you land mostly Stasis pellets, the target will freeze, but if you land mostly Solar pellets, an Ignition will happen.

With the right build, this weapon is very powerful in PvE. The Stasis shot works well with subclass Fragments like Whisper of Shards and Hedrons, and it can easily stun Unstoppable Champions. For PvP, this gun can easily stop every Super in Eggy Car game, even Titans inside a Ward of Dawn bubble. If you can raid, it’s worth farming for Conditional Finality.

Ager’s Scepter

Destiny 2 Ager's Scepter Featured

The most powerful Special tool for mobbing is Ager’s Scepter. This Exotic Trace Rifle shoots a beam of Stasis energy that, when it kills a target, releases a wave of stopping energy. Most PvE enemies will freeze when hit by this wave, making it easy to destroy them all.

With the Exotic Catalyst, Ager’s Scepter becomes a real monster. Will Given Form increases the damage of this weapon by 80%, fills up the magazine, and makes your Stasis beam slow enemies. In other words, this gun always breaks things and does a lot more damage. It costs your Super energy, but if you’re playing a Stasis type, it’s more than worth it. Add a few Stasis Fragments and you have one of the best Exotics in Destiny 2 for getting rid of adds.

Fire And Forget

Destiny 2 Fire and Forget

Reed’s Regret has been taken out of the Trials loot pool, but that doesn’t mean Stasis players are out of luck. Reed’s Regret, which comes from Season of the Seraph content, has been replaced by Fire and Forget. This LFR has a three-round burst and comes from Veist Stinger, making it a straight downgrade to Reed’s Regret.

The benefits of this tool aren’t quite as good, but they’re still good. The best way to deal damage to bosses is to use Field Prep and Focused Fury together. This gives you more ammo, faster reload speed while crouched, and more damage after just a few hits. That’s pretty much all a Linear Fusion Rifle can do. It kills big enemies quickly, does a lot of damage to bosses, and has a lot of ammunition.

Recommended Traits:

  • Column One: Field Prep
  • Column Two: Focused Fury, Vorpal Weapon

Riptide

Destiny 2 Riptide

The Riptide Stasis Fusion Rifle is the best one in Destiny 2. With Feeding Frenzy and Golden Tricorn, this Rapid-Fire Fusion Rifle can do a crazy amount of damage, enough to melt majors with ease. But Riptide’s real value comes from how useful it is. Auto-Loading Holster and Chill Clip make Riptide a better Blinding Grenade Launcher, stopping targets and stunning Overload and Unstoppable Champions. If you can find a way to make Radiant happen, Riptide can be used to fight all types of Champion at once. Riptide has everything: it is useful and it does damage.

Recommended Traits:

  • Column One: Auto-Loading Holster, Feeding Frenzy, Steady Hands
  • Column Two: Chill Clip, Golden Tricorn, Successful Warm-Up
