There are five reasons new domains do poorly in SEO.

by Uneeb Khan

These days, most businesses begin with a concept, a name, a logo, and a website, but most will also be unsatisfied when they attempt to attract visitors to their websites. What therefore accounts for the poor SERP performance of new domains?

Sadly, the adage “You build it and they will come” does not apply to websites!

This is primarily caused by how search engines evaluate a website’s relevancy to a search query and award rankings in the SERP using their own proprietary algorithms. The key factors that contribute to a new domain doing worse than an established domain are “Trust” and “Reputation.”

Reputation & Trust

The question is not whether the search engine trusts the company, but rather whether it trusts the domain name. A website needs to have been around for a while in order to build trust and a solid reputation. The tale of the new kid on the block is an old one. Search engines need to build up their credibility and trust over time.

An owner of a website needs to be aware of the following in order to build trust and a positive reputation:

Individual Registration

Domain registrars enjoy selling “Private Registration,” which conceals the real owner’s information and replaces it with the registrar’s information and reference number. This is typically presented as a “method of stopping spams and scams” to domain owners, which is obviously true.

SEO company in Pakistan become concerned, and for good reason, when website ownership is concealed behind a Private Registration. What are you trying to hide, and why are you trying to hide it? the same inquiries that a potential customer would ask, supposing they were wise enough to check your registration before doing business with you.

Even if it’s provided for free, private registration should be avoided at all costs by website owners. Private registrations will hurt a website’s credibility and trust, and owners should just accept spam as a cost of doing business online!

Authority of the Content

One of Google’s enigmatic black-magic procedures is this one. The correctness, relevance, and amount of your content on a certain topic are all factors in your content authority.

How many Natural inbound links a website receives from other authoritative websites to its pages, blogs, etc. is one of the markers for authority.

A website is more likely to be considered an “Authority” on a topic if it contains more content about it. The number of Authority increases in proportion to the number of high-quality inbound links from reliable websites (think of it as Votes, Endorsement, or Approval from another authority).

Choose your website’s keywords and keyphrases wisely, and only write about those topics—not your pet passion—in your content (unless your website is about your pet passion).

3. External Links

Everyone is aware that inbound connections from other websites help websites rank well, but are they really effective? Some links can be harmful and not all links are beneficial.

Inbound links from link factories, forums with a bad reputation, and websites that are unrelated to the website’s content or industry should be avoided. They are more detrimental than beneficial, and search engines have gotten very good at identifying them.

4. External Links

Many domain owners put connections to other websites in the thrill of having a new domain in the hopes of obtaining backlinks. As an outbound link transfers SEO “Juice Power” to the destination website, this is a self-defeating tactic. What is the motive for adding a link back and passing on SEO juice if a website already links to it? Links that point to other websites have no benefit from the original one.

Websites are not “Social Media” accounts that can count on everyone to “follow back.” When choosing who to link to and who links to them, websites need to be more selective.

Any outgoing links from a website should be designated as “No Follow,” but if this is not possible for any reason (such as an agreement for reciprocal links or business considerations), the target website must be highly ranked, well-respected, and pertinent to the topic at hand.

5. SSL (Encryption) (Encryption)

Encrypted connection between the website server and the browser on the visitor’s device is highly valued by search engines, particularly Google. Gaining confidence and enhancing the website’s reputation requires the use of an SSL Certificate, which validates your pages and content as “Encrypted.”

Avoid skimping and opt for a hosting provider that includes SSL in their plan or at the very least charges a fee that you can afford.

Summary

Some of these, as you can see, requires time. It is simply a pipe dream that can only be found in Domain Registrars’ TV advertisements to think that having a cool domain name and a super-duper-designed website will cause the world and his uncle to rush into a new website. In reality, unless they actively pursue reasonably and well-thought-out SEO Services in Lahore, your website is unlikely to gain any traction for up to 3 years.
