215 Running toilets can be daunting for homeowners, and it is the biggest problem homeowners face every now and then. In simple words, we say a toilet is running when the water keeps running even after you have flushed the toilet. It can result in hefty utility bills and can put serious harm to the whole plumbing system of your home. However, there is no need to get scared of this problem. We have come up with 5 effective ways you can stop your toilet from running. Examine the Fill Tube of the Toilet The first step in stopping your toilet from running is to examine the fill tube of your toilet. But if you don’t know how to examine it, you can call a plumber, and he will thoroughly check your toilet along with doing backflow testing of the flushing system. He will first check whether your tube is disconnected or not. If it is disconnected, the bowl will not get filled up, and you won’t be able to flush your toilet correctly. The plumber will connect the filling tube to the valve and will secure the connection so that water releases correctly into the overflow tube. Set the Fill Height There is an adjustable float that controls the volume of water in your toilet tank. If the float is low, it will flush slowly. However, it is the high float that will make the toilet continue to run. In order to solve this, you will have to find the level position in the inner part of the tank. Next, if you are using the latest model toilets, you will have to rotate the screw or push the clip on the surface of the rod. Once you have completed each one, pull the handle to flush the toilet. Set the Handle and Chain of the Toilet If your toilet is continuously running, one of the reasons may be a twisted chain and faulty handle of the toilet. A twisted chain keeps the flapper open, and water runs quickly into the bowl. However, if the chain is too long and your flush rod touches the tank lid, you will not be able to flush the toilet at all. So, in order to prevent having less water in your toilet bowl, you will have to set the connection on the chain so there is enough space for when the flapper is shut. Get a New Flapper In case you still have a running toilet even after performing the above-mentioned steps, you may have a defective flapper. So, in order to ensure a properly working toilet, you will have to get a new flapper for your toilet. There are different types of flappers out there, so you will have to choose wisely. If you don’t know about the types of flappers, you can take help from toilet repair services in your area. Be sure to choose a plumber who is experienced and qualified enough to handle your project for you. 0 comment 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail Zohaib Khan previous post Home Decor Link Party next post Search Engine Optimization Post Composing – Why It’s Incredibly Vital to Learn the Refine.
