All about Fortnite: Chapter 2, an ambitious update

The king of battle royale wants to remain so. The arrival of competitors such as Warzone ( Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ) and the improvement of other established ones such as Apex Legeds, has forced him to get his act together. And Fortnite: Chapter 2 has landed with several new features, such as the incorporation of a spy story in which two rival groups face each other and players must take sides on one of the sides. This will make the games have a little more background and that it is not only limited to eliminating all the rivals and winning.

This theme, known as Top Secret , announces that the island where the protagonists are moving “has been invaded by secret agents from Fantasma y Sombra”. Throughout the season, special missions will be incorporated, such as the infiltration of the bases of the two factions, the ambush of the bosses… in short, a breath of fresh air to everything they had offered us so far.

This also means that the story and the lore take place in game , contrary to what usually happens.

Top Secret: Ghost or Shadow

Before starting the game , we must choose a side , each with different missions —as long as we have the Battle Pass— and their corresponding rewards. These will put into play our ability to stealth and infiltration, in addition to our shooting skills, since there will always be NPC ( non playable character, non-playable characters in English) that try to take us down.

Depending on which team wins, the map will change: the Grotto is now a refuge for the Shadow team, as it is the team with the most wins so far. And all the neutral characters that appear in it wear the costume of that organization.

The total amount of rewards will be 100 , but it will take us a lot of work to complete it: most of the details that they give us will be from the faction that we have chosen the most.

These amazing new missions have simultaneously launched changes in the battle pass menu, which is now much more intuitive and allows us to differentiate between the missions of the day, of the week and those that we had previously not completed.

And to facilitate the task of where some of the challenges that we have to complete are , we now have a small drop-down map in the menu, which suggests where to get off the bus. The usual Battle Pass progress bar will also appear in the menu redesign.

In this new update, the customization options are much greater . For example, with Maya’s skin you can change her clothing, skin tone, the mask she wears, her hair, tattoos, shoes… In addition, new weapons have also been added, with special emphasis on the controversial minigun , of which the famous streamer Ninja says, that it makes it easier to eliminate rivals and hardly requires skill to handle it.

Map changes

An added feature that will make squad games easier will be to be able to pass objects instead of dropping them on the ground: this way, when we are in a clash against another enemy team, we will not risk losing by trying to help the companions.

With the excuse of the Shadow and Ghost teams, the map has undergone changes . The Agency is the biggest new location, which is right in the center and is a kind of giant mansion with a lot of neutral enemies and they will attack anyone who gets close.

The rest of new spaces are:

• The Yacht, a large ship with interesting items located near Angry Accumulations.
• The platform, a huge oil platform that is in the lower left corner of the map.
• The grotto, next to Ciudad Comercio and that has a secret underground base from which we can escape with a wind tunnel.
• The shark, located in the upper area on the left.

There will be areas that will only be accessible if we complete certain actions, so players have to be aware of possible interactions with the environment if they want to finish their Battle Pass.

One of the biggest surprises in the Fortnite: Chapter 2 trailer is the appearance of Marvel superhero Deadpool . Although his appearance can surely be acquired to play with him, Epic Games has not yet revealed how to unlock it, but only some minor skins for weapons.

It will be one of the great attractions of this second season, of which there are still many novelties to resurface.
