Nag Tibba Trek: A detailed itinerary and the best time to visit

Introduction

Nag Tibba, also known as the Serpent’s Peak, is one of the three mountain ranges that make up the Lesser Himalayas. The other two ranges are the Dhauladhar and the Pir Panjal. Nag Tibba, at an altitude of 3050 m above sea level, is the highest peak in the Garhwal region of the lower Himalayas.

When to Go to Nag Tibba Trek for the Best Weather?

The months of April through June and October through December offer ideal weather for hiking the Nag Tibba Trail. January through March are the best times to visit Nag Tibba if you want to see snow or go snow trekking in Chopta.

Summer

Nag Tibba is a wonderful place to spend the summer because of its nice and healthy climate. From afar, the Himalayas may be seen. A soothing breeze blows by constantly. You should bring some thin woolens in case it gets chilly throughout the night.

Day 1: Delhi to Dehradun to Mussoorie (Start of Nag Tibba Trek)

A/C train to Dehradun leaves in the morning. We shall get to Dehradun somewhere in the afternoon. Our guide will be waiting for you at the airport. You’ll take a car to get to Mussoorie, where you’ll stay at a hotel for a while to unwind. Taking a stroll down Mall road in the evening sounds like a great way to unwind. You will get hotel-provided dinner and overnight accommodations.

Day 2: Travel from Mussoorie to Pantwari and then on to Nag Tibba (about 50 kilometers and two hours)

We will leave for Pantwari as soon as we have breakfast in the morning. Pantwari will serve as the starting point for the journey to Nag Tibba. Camp should be prepared for the night once you reach Nag Tibba.

Day 3: Nag Tibba

After breakfast, we’ll begin our three-kilometer hike up Nag Tibba Peak, where we’ll have lunch waiting for us at the summit. The journey back from Nag Tibba, with its evening meal and overnight stay in the store, will begin in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Nag Tibba to Devalsari (16 kilometers, or around five to six hours).

It’s a long way down, but we bring a lunch and make the journey to Devalsari village. Having supper and sleeping in the tent.

Fifth day: Devalsari to Thatyur (8 kilometers, two hours), then Dehradun to Delhi

Our journey to Thatyur, a little village some 8 kilometers away, involves a lot of walking. This is the starting point for the trip to Dehradun by car. You will be taken to the train station in Dehradun so that you may board the air-conditioned train bound for Delhi. A 22:45 local time arrival in Delhi is expected.

Every level of hiker, from novice to seasoned pro, will enjoy the Mussoorie-Nag Tibba trail. It’s a perfect weekend hike for anyone arriving from Delhi. In addition to seeing spectacular snow-capped mountains, hikers can camp out under a starry sky and stroll through verdant, lush forests during their trip.
